HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) is a durable, versatile, cost-effective, abrasion, and chemical-resistant plastic material. HDPE is easy to manufacture and weld using thermoplastic welding equipment. It is an excellent choice for assembled water tanks and chemical tanks.
UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) is an extremely tough, abrasion-resistant, low-cost plastic used in a wide range of wear applications.UHMWPE is a popular plastic for countless industrial applications where durability, low friction, and chemical resistance are required. Applications include UHMWPE marine fender pads, wear-resisting liners, radiation shielding boards, and UHMWPE blocks and sheets.

HDPE is high-density polyethylene. It is a thermoplastic polymer material. HDPE has a density of 0.95 g/cm 3. Due to the very low branching of the polymer chains in this material, the polymer chains are tightly packed. This makes HDPE relatively stiff and provides high impact resistance. HDPE can be processed at temperatures of around 120°C without any harmful effects. This makes HDPE autoclavable.

UHMW-PE is a material used primarily for the manufacture of very complex parts, and UHMW-PE parts can replace parts made from steel, aluminum, various metals, and other polymers.UHMW-PE is an opaque polyolefin with a crystalline structure, also known as high-performance polyethylene (HPPE) and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, and is a plastic used to make highly stressed parts. The ultra-high molecular weight (up to 9,000,000 daltons) and long-chain conformation give UHMW-PE its properties, although it is lighter than metal. Its extreme resistance to physical forces and chemicals and its self-lubricating and smooth surface prevents clogging and adhesion.
Why use Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene? This is a question that is often asked. UHMWPE is becoming more and more popular nowadays, but most people don't know the reasons why it can replace many materials.
Here Abosn gives you the answer.
UHMW-PE: stronger, lighter, and cheaper
Abosn uses a compression molding process that allows us to produce a wide range of parts from UHMW-PE powder to suit your needs. These parts can be machined or integrated with other materials, such as rubber.
UHMWPE Slippery Lining
An increasing number of manufacturers are choosing UHMW-PE instead of metals, alloys, and other plastics to benefit from the following advantages.
Cheaper than steel and other metals
Suitable for manufacturing complex or delicate parts
Ideal for combining multiple parts into one
Corrosion-resistant, making it a perfect alternative to metal
Abrasion, wear, and impact resistance, better than carbon steel
Excellent adhesion to rubber and metal
UHMW and HDPE are made from ethylene monomers.
They are both thermoplastic polymers.
They both have an indistinguishable appearance.
The main difference between UHMW and HDPE is that UHMW contains long polymer chains with a very high molecular weight, whereas HDPE has a high strength to density ratio.
